All set up and ready to go! 02/25/2010
We are set up in Covington, KY for the Northern KY Camper Show. This will definitely be different as we are actually right in with the campers and rv's. Every show has just a little something different. If you have the opportunity, please visit this show. The promoters are great and I would love to watch one of you try out the mechanical surf board. Check out the website for this show. There is a link on our Calendar Page. If all goes well, we hope to attend the Columbus RV Super Show. This will make us busy every weekend during the month of March and that's not bad. I'm just glad that we have the week to catch up. Just a note of thanks to Megan and Rob and the Odyssey family! You guys are awesome! Hope to hear from you soon. Add Comment Headed for KY! 02/22/2010
Hello to all of our friends, family and especially to our customers! We are still really excited about the response we are receiving from our attendance at rv and boat shows. The most recent show we attended just ended yesterday in Dayton. Next weekend we will be in Covington, KY for the Northern KY Camper Show. Our association with Odyssey Events and Promotions has been awesome. They are a great group of people to work with. Their shows are always filled with a full venue of fun, information, new ideas, and of course, new items to buy such as boats, rv's, equipment, etc. We would highly recommend attending any of their shows located throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, and the Gulf Coast. Be sure to always check out our calendar of events page as I am constantly updating it to reflect our ever changing schedule. We have again met some wonderful people at each of the shows that we have attended. My heart especially goes out to our Vietnam Veterans again. You guys are awesome and always so willing to share your stories with us about how you used paracord. See you at the next show! On to the next show... 02/09/2010
Hello to all of our great business supporters, family and friends. Another show has been completed and we did survive the snow storm. We just finished attending the Cincinnati RV Super Show in Mason, Ohio and it was a great show. We met many of you who had saw us at the Dayton RV Show and you picked up more bracelets or bought the one that you forgot to pick up at the past show. Next Wednesday we will be setting up for the Dayton Boat Super Show back at the Airport Expo Center. We have also been scheduled to conduct instructional workshops at the Twin Lakes Park, a family campground, in Bluffton, Ohio on June 12 at 3:00 p.m. Thousand Trails would like us to conduct a workshop during Memorial Day and that has yet to be finalized. We spoke to a very interested scout leader that would like us to bring stock and have each one of their scouts make a bracelet as they will be soon going on a multi day hiking trip. I also signed us up to attend the Springfield High School Music Booters' Quality Craft Show on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. We added a calendar page to our site so that you can find us wherever we go and purchase more bracelets. Remember that when we attend a show, we include the taxes in the price of the bracelet. If you have any ideas of places that you think would be a good place for us to attend and sell our items, please let us know. We would really appreciate any information that you can offer. Thanks again for supporting us and we hope to see you at the next show. Remember you can always order online. Getting ready for more! 01/28/2010
Hello to all. We continue to get ready for our next show. Many people have encouraged us to continue growing our company. However, where do we turn to next? Are there grants available for new companies? Are the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts interested? We would like to show the bracelets with them so that they could learn how to make the items and complete any badge work requirements at the same time. Our next show is next weekend in Mason, Ohio at the Cincinnati RV Super Show. I have posted a link to a discount coupon if you are interested. We have also been invited to attend the Dayton Boat Show in March at the Airport Expo Center. It's a little quiet now, we would love for business to pick up but we are trying to be patient. Thanks to all of you who have already supported us. Hope to see you again soon! On to the next show.... 01/19/2010
This weekend at the Dayton RV Supershow was awesome and tiring but we made some great contacts and our business is growing. One of our most memorable stories was from a past Vietnam War Veteran who was a crew chief on a Marine search and rescue helicopter. A Navy plane had gone down in North Vietnam and the pilots tried to tell them that they were directly beneath them but they were unable to locate them. The pilots attached paracord to a pocket flare and fired it into the air. The crew on his helicopter followed the attached paracord down to the tree tops and located the crew. The pilots were rescued and also used their paracord to lift their survival gear up and into the helicopter once they were onboard. What an awesome way to hear how 550 paracord had saved a life. We are headed to the Cincinnati RV Show in Mason, Ohio the first weekend in February and to the Dayton Boat Show the third weekend in February. See you there and thanks for supporting our growing company. One day left of the Dayton RV Show.. 01/17/2010
It has been an interesting three days. Our product is well received once the survival aspect has been presented. The sales are tough but we have almost completed our first real RV show. There has been great people there and we have decided to attend the Cincinnati RV Show in February. Ray and I are really tired and we have one more day. I hope we do well tomorrow. Thanks to Chelsea for all of her help. She has been great and what an awesome worker. You can tell she also believes in our product and presents a great sales pitch. Thanks Chelsea! Set up for the Dayton RV Supershow 01/14/2010
Today we set up for the Dayton RV Supershow. It will be four continuous days and we are ready. Our friend from church, Chelsea will be helping us from Friday to Sunday. She will be a much needed assistance and she is very excited as we are about what is ahead. If things go well, we will be participating in other shows and events such as boat shows, camping shows and of course, RV shows. Hope to see you there! Post Title. 12/28/2009
Christmas was awesome and we are busy getting ready for our show scheduled in Dayton in January. One of our customers has asked us to add our product to his new store's inventory when he opens in March of 2010. We are hoping and planning on a great 2010 for our new business. Both of our dogs, Bailey and Jessica are sporting their new dog collars. Bailey is wearing her bright red collar and Jessica has her new girlish color of purple. I am busy with finding more shows for us to attend and sell our product. It's a great product and we want to share it with everyone. I can only imagine about the first time that one of our customers has need for our bracelet or one of our products to be used in a survival situation. Take care everyone and let's bring in the New Year together! Post Title. 12/18/2009
Today we placed a large order for more stock. Yesterday, we made the decision to attend the Dayton RV SuperShow which will be held in January. It is a little overwhelming due to the length and size of the show but Ray and I feel we are ready. Also, what better way to get our product out to the public. We really believe in what we are selling. The bracelets, key chains, etc. are more than what they appear. Once the public hears how they can be used to help in a survival situation, they are just amazed. There hasn't been much in the way of sales on the internet but phone calls are coming in for orders. We love the enthusiasm of the public about our product. Now we begin the mass production of stock to take to the show in January. We hope it will turn out profitable and fun. This is the last weekend before Christmas. Time to get ready! Welcome to my first blog! 12/13/2009
It has been just over 3 months and our business has taken off. Well, some. We have been able to schedule and attend craft shows however, now we need to go elsewhere to sell our product. The response from the public has been great and they are completely sold on the idea of having a survival tool with them at all times. What is going to be our next mode of sales? How do we grow? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. | AuthorI am supporting my husband in his new business adventure that has turned into something that we do together and love offering this product to the public.
